Hey, it's about time I start up a blog of my own, so here it is, dedicated to the progression
of my artworks. I work in charcoal and also oil, although I need so much practice with the latter.
Here are a couple oils I whipped up from last Sunday. The model was great but I ended up
creating these clay-like figure things, heh. Practice, practice and practice:
I seem to remember painting the figure from life back at UT being pretty damn hard.
ReplyDeletePainting-wise I think you are on the right track - prioritizing values and not agonizing over color specificity. You don't need me to tell you that as you start to solve more of the drawing related problems (anatomy - such as the right leg/arm of the left figure) the figures will read better.
This is some of the most challenging stuff and you're taking it on fearlessly. I wish I could be of more help but I am struggling just as much as you :p
Keep it up,
Dan
