A day for painting:8/22/9

Well, last Saturday certainly was a day
that I shall remember for a long time.
I felt very productive having captured
the figure in the morning and later
pursuing a landscape in the evening,
all the while learning and enjoying
the day with friends. Even
though my car broke down towards the
end of the day my friends came to the
rescue, and really helped me with my
broken down car.
Here are two products that I created:

8.21.9 Portrait update

Eh, I need to focus on actually painting
the properties of objects in order to
suggest what the hell the objects are.
Anyways the odd elements in this painting
are supposed to be earrings; I think I've
made the painting worse by including them
since I didn't suggest them correctly.
Other than that I had fun on this one.

Back in the game

Well, I haven't been updating my blog as I should,
but this update marks the end of that stagnation.

Outdoor painting:8.6.9

I enjoy painting with white, lead paint and
then letting the canvas dry for a week
or so. Then, the real painting can begin.

Shit, my edges look like ass. Oh well,
more practice.

Daily Painting:8.4.9

Yesterday, I found a secluded spot at the Botanical Gardens
where I painted a quick study of a lone lotus that was
apart from the huge cluster of blooming flowers.

Figure Painting update:8.3.9

I had a good time last night at the figure session.
Here is a compilation of the speed paintings that I
pumped out: (I'm content with the colors and values
but frustrated with the lack of representational
drawing; too messy).

Portrait Update

Here is another portrait I had painted over the weekend,
on Sunday. I'm improving in controlling my values and colors,
but the other areas are really lacking, such as drawing. By
drawing I mean measurements and accurate placements of
brushstrokes by placing the paintstroke in the right spot
and of the right size.
